![]() There are few games for this system, but we had no issues with Street Fighter 3. Into the higher end Arcade emulation and CPS-III. We did not expect any issues as the emulator is well established and very compatible. Likewise with the Arcade emulator MAME, we tried a variety of games and they all run with no slowdown or issues. We tried Master System, Mega Drive, PC Engine, SNES etc and they all ran great. The performance may also not be as high as on Android which has the faster Vulkan rendering support.Īll the 8 and 16-bit emulators will run fine with no issues at all. With this ease of use comes some things to note such as choice of emulators and systems are restricted. Everything is set up and ready to play pretty much straight away. The Linux OS comes with an emulation station style frontend and Retroarch for the emulation side of things. ![]() After some testing, the performance is the same for both devices on Linux. The RG353V has both Android and Linux, while the VS has only Linux. Operating Systems OverviewĪs part of our RG353V and RG353VS review we will take a look at the operating systems. * Higher demanding systems like Dreamcast and PlayStation will of course be less. ![]() RG353V and RG353VS Technical Specifications Max 6 hours battery life, depending on usage. Shame the game doesn't quite work for me, but I think it might be the ROM I'm using. ![]() It's sequel, Ghost Squad Evolution, is the one that runs on Lindbergh hardware (which can be emulated using TeknoParrot, I'll try to check that out in the future when I have time).īrave Firefighters is very cool. I stated Ghost Squad ran on Lindbergh, but it actually runs on the Chihiro hardware. Although, there is something I have heard will run those types of arcade games, I will need to investigate further.ĮDIT: Small correction. Probably the Wii port though, since the arcade version can't be emulated (due to it being on the Sega Chihiro hardware). I might do a video of that game in the future. Ranger Mission kinda reminds me of a proto version of Ghost Squad. Sad to hear it never got as popular as Virtua Cop, but I really wanna see if the Dreamcast port (in emulation) is any good. But using audio and clips from the show makes it copyright claim bait.Ĭonfidential Mission is pretty cool. Some of the later levels use some interesting mechanics (especially the chase level where you shoot the gun to move the car in thir person view). Lupin III - The Shooting is pretty interesting. I never had a Dreamcast, so I've never played it the port either. I have no idea what Death Crimson OX is supposed to be. At least there you can upscale the graphics and even put in high quality textures. Though the Naomi emulation is okay, I think you'd be better off emulating the Wii version using Dolphin. In the future maybe I'll try seeing if there is any way to mess around with that stuff, but it's just best to run stuff natively to prevent anything from going terribly wrong. Some forum posts specifically mention that changing some of the graphics setting will break the emulation, so I decided to err on the side of caution and just let it the emulator run in native resolution without any graphics enhancements in windowed mode. Also I really wanted to play around with the graphics, BUT I WAS WARNED NOT TO DO IT. The only ones I couldn't get to work were Sega Clay Challenge (I wanted to really try) and Ninja Assault (which is more control issues with reloading the guns). People don't realize that there is a lot of heavy troubleshooting just to get it to work.Īside from some sound issues, and maybe some control issues, most of the games do work. ![]() Don't ask me how it works, I just threw everything at the emulator in hopes that brute forcing BIOS files and validated ROMs at it would get it to eventually run. But once I found the right "files" (mostly BIOS related), the damn thing just started working. It took me a while to get things to work, since loading up a ROM would just not work with whatever configuration I had set up. Getting some time with the emulators, this time with some arcade lightgun games on DEMUL. ![]()
